Benjamin T. Zimmerman, 20, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 in Fort Wayne, IN as the result of an auto accident. He was born on July 13, 1998 to Thomas and Deborah (Kunesh) Zimmerman in Defiance, OH. Ben worked as an electrician for Custom Ag in Napoleon and thoroughly enjoyed his job, and he also was a volunteer fireman.  He was a lifetime member of St. John Catholic Church.  Ben enjoyed playing guitar, making smoked food, and especially enjoyed all times spent with his friends.  Family was very important to Ben, especially on holidays where he would make everyone still follow specific traditions.  Ben graduated from Ayersville High School in 2016.. Ben will be sadly missed by his parents, Tom and Deb Zimmerman of Defiance, OH, 2 brothers, Tyler and Kevin Zimmerman of Defiance, OH, grandparents, James (Clara) Kunesh of Ney, OH, and Lawrence (Betty) Zimmerman of Archbold, OH.  Also among survivors include many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, great aunts, and great uncles. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018, 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at 11:00 am in St John's Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Fr Eric Mueller, officiating. Memorial donations in Ben's memory are suggested to the Kaitlyn's Cottage, Defiance, Autism Speaks Foundation, or St John Catholic.
