Benita  Resendez, 89, of Defiance, passed away on  December 11, 2015 at the Defiance CHP. She was born on August 22, 1926 to Benino and Maria (Luisa) Salinas in Bishop, TX .  On June 11, 1944 she married Justo Resendez II who survives in Defiance. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio, Benita worked at the Tempco Radish Factory in McClure, Ohio and was a homemaker. Benita is survived by her daughters, Guadelupe (Juan) Montolin of Chicago, IL, Ludivina "Vina" (John) Flores of Maumee, OH, Gloria Kouris of Chicago, IL, Ofelia (Arturo) Granados of Crystal City, TX, Amanda (Tito Jr.) Carrasquillo of Defiance, OH, Maria (David) Carrillo of Orange, CA, sons, Justo (Debby) Resendez, III of West Chester, OH, Adbento "Ben" (Barbara) Resendez of Holgate, OH, Seryio "Steve" (Saundra) Resendez of Defiance, Homer (Renee) Resendez of Defiance, sisters, Natividad Valdez,of Holgate, OH, and  Maria (Licha) Rodriguez, of Texas, 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Baldo Salinas and Benino Salinas, sister, Librada Valdez, grandson, Patrick Esparza, grandson, Jonathon  Carrillo and a son in law Byron Kouris. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2015, 2:00 pm - 8:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, 11:00 am at the St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio with Fr Eric Mueller, officiating.
