Becky K. Martinez, 69, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her home in Defiance. She was born on February 28, 1948 to George and Cora (Flint) Hill in Napoleon, Ohio. In 1965 she married Lee M. Martinez, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2001. Becky was a member of First Church of God in Defiance, Eagles #372 Auxiliary, and was a life member of AMVETS #1991 Auxiliary. Becky was best known as "Granny" and welcomed everyone with a cup of coffee. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would spend hours working in her garden and planting flowers. She will be remembered by many for her kindness, and her cooking. Becky will be sadly missed by her sons, Lee M. (Becky) Martinez, Jr., Richard (Brenda) Martinez, and John Martinez, and daughter, Jenny (Rex) Cameron, all of Defiance, twelve grandchildren; Brooke, Kristen, Lee III, Anthony, Christian, Jonah, Isaiah, Cori, Nia, Alec, Michael, and Karaleena, seven great-grandchildren; Carson, Ryder, Brycen, Kaiden, Kameron, Damien, and Abraham, her siblings; Bonnie (Bill) Shafer of Napoleon, Doris Ann Rippee of Elkhart, IN, Larry (Ruth) Hill of Defiance, Fred (Evelyn) Hill of Marion, OH, and Janet Scott of Punta Gorda, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee M. Martinez, Sr., brothers, Billy and Bernard Hill, and sisters, Eunice Hill, Lois Mankhe, and Shirley Boyett. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to The Epilepsy Society, or CHP Defiance Home Hospice.
