Barbara A Porter, 80, longtime resident of Ayersville, passed away on  Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Gardens of Paulding in Paulding, Ohio.

She was born on September 29, 1934 to Everett and A. Pauline (Conrad) Tobias in Malinta, Ohio. She graduated from Hamler High School in 1952. On October 4, 1953 she married Melvin Porter, who proceeded her in death  on June 3, 2012.

Barbara was an active member of Ayersville United Methodist Church. She worked at Kirchers Flowers and was a homemaker. Barb and her husband Melvin were antique dealers and collectors and owned their own shop "Kobweb Korners".

Barbara is survived by her sons, Michael (Lillie) Porter of Oakwood, and Steven (Mary) Porter of Delta, daughters, Jeanine (Douglas) Caryer of Defiance, and Jenni (Tom) Ellis of Engelwood, Florida, 14 Grandchildren, 27 Great-grandchildren, brothers, John (Shirley) Tobias of Hamler, and Jim (Dorothy) Tobias of Holgate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin Porter, and sons in infancy, Sam and Mark Porter.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the funeral home, with Rev. Roger Emerson officiating. Burial will follow at the Ayersville Cemetery.
