Barbara Ann Simmons, 76, of Defiance, passed away on  Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Twin Rivers Care and Rehabilitation Center, Defiance.

She was born on November 7, 1936 to Roland and Dorothy (Guilliam) Naveaux in Defiance.  On June 25, 1955 she married Fred Simmons.

Barbara was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.  After graduating in 1954 she worked at GM, Electrollite and Garden Scapes.  Barbara enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, baking and traveling.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Fred, daughter, Jacqueline (Tim) Hohenberger of Defuabce, OH and grandchildren, Tawny & Tim Hohenberger Jr. both of Defiance.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Naveaux.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 pm on Friday November 8th, 2013 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, with Rev. Donald L Luhring officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.

The family suggest memorials be made to  the American Heart Association.
