Barbara A. Kajfasz
Barbara Ann Kajfasz, 62, of Defiance, passed away Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born in Defiance, Ohio on December 28, 1955, the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Thrasher) Carroll.
On Oct. 21, 1978, she married Tom Kajfasz, who survives.
Barb was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She had worked at First Insurance, Stauffer-Mendenhall Insurance and Andrews Insurance as a CISR. She was a passionate animal protector, from cats to birds and horses. She was a talented artist and writer, and had a fascination with history. Barb was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, and always had her Terrible Towel handy when the Pittsburgh Steelers played. In addition to each other, she and Tom shared a lifetime love of the Moody Blues and their music. She loved nature and gardening, and always believed there was room for one more plant.
She will be missed by her husband of 39 years Tom,
daughter Jessica (William Till) Kajfasz of Defiance, and
son Andrew Kajfasz of Defiance;
sisters Cathy Morris of Rockville, IN and Laura (Russell) Wagner of Severn, MD;
and brother Thomas (Cheryll) Carroll of Pemberville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her brother E. Charles 'Charlie' Carroll and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16th, with Father Randy Giesige officiating.
Visitation is Sunday 4-8 p.m. and Monday 2-8 p.m. at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance, with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Monday.
Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
