Barbara Jean Froelich, age 77 of Ney, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Parkview Care Center in Edgerton, Ohio. Barb was born on July 11, 1944 to Charles and Helen (Baird) Brannan in Bryan, Ohio. On April 1, 1983 she married Leon Froelich, who survives. She enjoyed reading, and loved her time spent at home with her family. Barb was the heart and soul of her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, she loved to spoil her children and grandchildren, and was so proud of their accomplishments. Together during their marriage of 38 years, Barb and Leon raised their children; Greg Calvin of Atlanta, GA, Kim (Shane) Lantz of Montpelier, OH, Joe (Laurie) Froelich of Sherwood, OH, and Lenny Froelich of Hamler, OH. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Jake (Lindsay) Roose of Defiance, Matthew Calvin of Johnson City, TN, Jason Roose of Bryan, OH, Mitchell (Lydia) Calvin of Tennessee, Deven Froelich of Sherwood, OH, Brittany Froelich of Chicago, IL, Sophie Froelich and Zoee Froelich, both of Sherwood, OH, six great-grandchildren, and her siblings; Sharon Hummel, Kathy Goller, and Charlene (Rick) Franks, all of Bryan, OH, Richard (Larraine) Brannan of Oregon, and Kenny (Dee) Brannan of Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Shon Froelich, her brothers, James Brannan and Robert Brannan, and brothers-in-law, John Hummel and George Goller. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor George Goller officiating. Due to CDC guidelines if you are not fully vaccinated, a mask is required to enter the funeral home, and our lounge area will remain closed. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
