Barbara Anne Bush, age 87 of Cecil, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. She was born in Defiance, Ohio on March 19, 1939 to the late James and Geraldine (Batt) French. On January 5, 1958 she married Roger Bush, who preceded her in death on June 3, 2009. Barb was an active and faithful member of First Church of God for over 39 years. She was a greeter, and volunteered as a teacher for Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also enjoyed her Thursday night Bible Study group. In her spare time you could find Barb reading, and crocheting baby blankets and booties for CPC, and making doilies for her friends. She loved having dinner with her friends on Sundays after church. Over several years she helped Roger build four houses. Barb was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and treasured her time spent with her family. Barb is survived by four sons, Martin Bush of Florida, Robert (Elaine) Bush of Kentucky, Terry Bush of Virginia, and Anthony (Chrystal) Bush of Edgerton, Ohio. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, her brother James French of New York, and sister Janey (Tom) Zachrich of Defiance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Bush, son, Daniel Lee Bush, and sisters, Carolyn Houser and Judy Lyons. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating. Barb will be laid to rest in Sherman Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Church of God, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
