Barbara Jean  Bennett, 53, of Defiance, went to heaven on  Sunday, April  9, 2017 at the University of Toledo Medical Center.

She was born on November 26, 1963 to Bobby and Doris (Langley) Bellis in St. Louis, Missouri. On  April 10, 2000 she married Edward Bennett, who resides in Defiance.

Barbara earned her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Northwest State Community College, and her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She worked for Heartland of Waterville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She enjoyed cake decorating and crafts, and she loved to spoil her grandchildren. Her motto was: "Family is everything and everyone is Family and welcome."

Barbara is survived by her loving spouse of 16 years, Edward Bennett of Defiance,  daughters, Sabrina (Joshua Shank) Sauceda, Karisa (David Marchant) Sauceda,  Sheena (Jacob Sherry) Priddy, sons, Angel (Dawn) Sauceda and Cole Bennett, 21 grandchildren, and sisters, Carla (Jerry) Mills, Anna (Jimmy) Thompson, and Vickie Bellis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and son-in-law, Carl Priddy, II.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Believers Church International, 1600 Ayersville Ave. Defiance, OH 43512 with Apostle O. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow the services at Riverside Cemetery.
