Barbara A. Cavin, age 71 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on April 6, 1952 to the late Hibbert and Elsie (Burnett) Belcher in Big Rock, Virginia. On August 26, 1969 she married Harold Cavin, who survives. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Harold Cavin of Defiance, her daughter, Pamela (Joshua) Foss of Nappanee, IN, her son, Michael (Sarah) Cavin of Defiance, her grandchildren,  Andrea Cavin, Brandon Foss and Rayah Cavin, and great-granddaughter, Lessa Cavin. She also leaves behind her brother, Ronnie Belcher of Defiance, and her sister, Dee Winkler of North Ridgeville, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Pebble Camp. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Defiance. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will follow at 1:30 pm at the church, with Rev. Ron Monteith officiating. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Ronald McDonald House.
