Arlene M. Burson, 99, of Elkhart, Indiana,  passed away on Saturday, June  27, 2015 at the East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart, Indiana. She was born on February 25, 1916 to Floyd and Faye (Matson) Ice in Paulding, Ohio. On August 16, 1939 she married Harry F. Burson, who proceeded her in death on January 6, 1997. Arlene was a member of  First Presbyterian Church in Defiance, the Presbyterian Woman's Association, Eastern Star #321,  The Defiance College Woman's Association,  Retired Teachers Association, American Legion Auxiliary Post #117 in Defiance, and a former member of North Mt. Zion Ladies Aide. Arlene is survived by her son, Robert Burson of Elkhart, Indiana, granddaughter, Heather (Bryan) Angeletti of Chicago, Illinois, and great-grandchildren, James and Brynn Angeletti. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Faye Ice, and husband, Harry F. Burson. Visitation will be held  from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Eric Peltz, officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are according to the wishes of he family.
