Anna M. Esparza, 85, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Laurels of Defiance.

She was born on November 21, 1929 to David and Maria (Ramirez) Ordaz in San Antonio, Texas. In 1946 she married Carlos "Charles" Esparza, who proceeded her in death on February 8, 1986.

Anna was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance.

Anna is survived by her sons; David Esparza of Cecil, Ohio, Tony (Laura) Esparza of Defiance, Joe (Nancy) Esparza of Chicago, Illinois daughters; Rose (Richard) Prymicz of Northlake, Illinois, Mickey Esparza of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, JoAnn (Rey) Jimenez of Montpelier, Ohio, Anna (Robert) Resendez of Defiance, Theresa Esparza of Defiance, brother David Ordaz of Leipsic, Ohio, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Maria Ordaz, husband, Charles Esparza, sons, Carlos, Simon, and Michael Esparza, brother, Frank Ordaz, sisters, Antonia Barajas and Horencia Ordaz, and granchildren Rey Jimenez Jr. and Patrick Esparza.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. A Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at St. John Catholic Church, with  Fr. Todd Dominique officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
