Anna Margaret Fillinger, 91, of Defiance, passed away on  Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Laurels of Defiance.  She was born on February 11, 1922 in Defiance County to Joseph and Mae (Brown) Lero.

She was a 1940 graduate of Defiance High School.  Anna and Ralph Walter Fillinger were married in 1943.  She was employed by Chief Supermarket, retiring in 1983.  Anna was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Wesleyan Circle and Eastern Star.

Anna is survived by her sons, Larry (Becky) of Defiance, and Troy (Kathy) of Defiance; grandsons, Shannon (Cherie) of Miller City, and Eric (Annabell) of Grand Rapids, Michigan; great grandsons, Isaac and Zachary of Miller City; and a sister, Rosemary Lero of Defiance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1967, sisters, Dorothy Steffel and Helen Hornish, and stepmother, Gladys Lero.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013,  at Schaffer Funeral Home,  Defiance.  A private service will be held on  Thrusday, April 11 at the funeral home with interment at the Independence Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Donnally officiating.
