Ann  Ryan, 85, of Defiance, passed away on  September 27, 2014 at the Mercy Hospital, Defiance.

She was born on September 18, 1929 to Herbert and Ella (King) Carman in Defiance, OH. On September 12, 1953 she married Bernard Joseph Ryan who survives in Defiance. Ann worked as a Bookkeeper for St. Michael's Catholic Church for over 40 years.  She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and it's Altar & Rosary Society.  She also volunteered with the Defiance Hospice for many years.

Ann is survived by her loving spouse Bernard Joseph Ryan of Defiance, OH, daughter, Colleen Sewell of Toledo, OH, daughter, Maureen Ryan of Northville, MI, daughter, Amy Ryan of Bradenton, FL, daughter, Janet McCloud of Defiance, OH, daughter, Mollie (Eric) Elliot of West Mansfield, OH, 7 grandchildren, Ben, Aubrey, Emma, Casey, Joe, Grace, Briar & Justin, and a  brother, King (Shirley) Carman of SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert, John, & Herbert Carman, sisters, Jean Siler and Evelyn Carman.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2014, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance with a Rosary Service to be held at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, 2:00 pm at the St Michael's Catholic Church with Father David Tscherne officiating.

Burial will take place in the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
