Andrew E.  Doan Sr., 79, of Defiance, passed away on  May 31, 2014 at the St. Joseph Hospital , Ft. Wayne, IN .

He was born on July 15, 1934 to James A. and Elizabeth (Hartoon) Doan in  Defiance, OH. . Andrew worked as a Union Construction Worker for the Local 500.

He was a Korean war veteran of the Army serving in the infantry, a  member of the Defiance VFW Post 3360, Eagles, and AmVets.  He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting & fishing.

Andrew is survived by his son, Andrew Doan Jr. of Montpelier, OH, son, Wade (Darlene) Doan of Montpelier, OH, daughter, Tonia (Mike) Sabo, of Defiance, Jean (Jeff) Kretz of Defiance, Danielle Doan of Ney, 11 Grandchildren, 5 Great grandchildren, sister, Hazel Kleinhenn of Napoleon, sister, JoAnn Font of Paulding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles "Fred" Doan, sister, Claire Rau, sister, Marilyn Stuckey, sister, Katherine  Pelland, sister, Ruth Doan.

Visitation will be held  at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 2-8 pm

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Patrick Holt officiating.

Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery where members of the VFW Post 3360 will accord military honors .
