Amy Jo Glysz, age 56 of Defiance, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, August 29, 2022 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born in Defiance, Ohio on August 2, 1966 to the late Robert Manley and Cindy Smith. Amy earned her Master's Degree from the University of Cincinnati. She worked as the Director of Child Care for Defiance Area YMCA. Amy loved to walk, travel, and be outdoors, especially in her pool. Amy was a wonderful and caring mother. She was truly passionate about her students and her children. Amy is survived by her children; Ashley Solether and Nicholos Solether, both of Columbus, Ohio, and her brother, Shawn (Dawn) Manley. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating. Memorials are suggested to Defiance YMCA Child Care, or CHP Defiance Area Hospice.
