Alfred F. King, 81, of Defiance, passed away on June 27, 2015 at the Defiance CHP.
He was born on March 18, 1934 to Carey Sr. and Louise V. (Bear) King in Ft. Wayne, IN. On September 1, 1956 he married Margaret Deloris Lahr who survives in Defiance.
He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was the head usher. Alfred worked at the GM Foundry retiring in 1992, was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, was a life member of the Defiance VFW Post 3360, a member of the Defiance Fish & Game Club, and was a Boy Scout Troop 130 leader .
Alfred is survived by his wife, Margaret Deloris King of Defiance, OH, sons, Ronald (Deb) King of Defiance, and Randall (Leslie) King of Defiance, daughters, Ruth (William Burwitz) King of Holland, OH, and Rochelle (Daniel J.) Hermiller of Miller City, OH, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brothers, Raymond (Eileen) King of Lawrence, KS, Edward (Utahnna) King Sr. of Ft. Wayne, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rodger King, brother, Carey King, Jr., sister, Mary Belle Krauhs, grandson, Timothy Dulaney.
Visitation will be held at the Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio on Wednesday, July 1st from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services at the Church on Thursday
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015, 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio, with the Rev. David Brobston officiating.
Veteran services will be held following the funeral by the Defiance VFW Post 3360.
Memorials are suggested to the Church or to the Defiance County Hospice.
