Albert S. "Steve" Molnar Jr., age 84 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday evening, July 18, 2023 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on August 20, 1938 to the late Wilma (Fillman) and Albert Molnar Sr. Steve proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Truckee during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. On December 21, 1957 he married Rosa Walker, who preceded him in death on December 11, 2020. Steve was a member of Defiance VFW #3360 and Eagles #372. He worked for many years at S & K Tools until his retirement. Steve was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and he treasured his time spent with his family. Steve will be sadly missed by his sons, Roger Molnar of Defiance and Gerald (Kathy) Molnar of Bryan, OH, his daughters, Diana (Jeff) Roehrig of Kalida, OH and Penny Molnar of Defiance, six grandchildren; Pete, Mitchell, Kevin and Katia Roehrig, Ashley and Ryan Molnar, nine great-grandchildren; Calli, Lucy, Cooper, Wade, Carter, Tristen, Piper, Rayven and Braxton, and three sisters, Meredith Molnar and Barbara (Dennis) Hale, all of Defiance, and Carol Justus of Murrieta, California. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Molnar, his brother, Jim Molnar, and two grandsons, David and Douglas Roehrig Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Fr. Dave Cirata officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
