William N. Boyd

William N. Boyd, 84, of Edgerton, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Parkview Nursing Center in Edgerton, Ohio.   
  
He was born on July 27, 1934 to the late Gerald and Florence (Bohn) Boyd in Defiance. On June 6, 1953 he married Jean Ann (Hillstrom) Boyd, who preceded him in death on March 8, 2018. 

William was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Defiance. He worked for several years as a machinist in the pattern shop at General Motors until his retirement. He taught boat safety for several years with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a Past Master at the Tuendawie Lodge in Defiance. He achieved Worshipful Master Mason, was a member of the Commandry, and The Shriners. He will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends. 

William is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Michael) Shockey of Mears, MI, sons, Brian (Marsha) Boyd of Defiance, and Gerald (Gail) Boyd of Albuquerque, NM, five grandchildren; Stephanie Jean (Todd) Demar of Defiance, Stacie Ruth (John) Whetstone of Ft. Wayne, IN, Taylor (Amber) Boyd, and Megan (Steven) Christenson, all of Albuquerque, NM, and Nathan Boyd of Defiance, two great-grandchildren; Alex Michael Whetstone of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Oakely Jean Demar of  Defiance, sister Shirley (Murel) Lloyd of Defiance, and brothers-in-law, David (Bonnie) Hillstrom of Marion, OH, and Casey Clauser of Brighton, MI. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ann Boyd, and sister Mary Clauser.
  
All services will be private. Schaffer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
