Wayne C. Hardy

Wayne C. Hardy, 79, of Defiance, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 7, 2018 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.   
  
He was born on March 8, 1939 to the late Andrew and Mary (Cooley) Hardy in Defiance County, Ohio. Wayne was married to Carol (Rohe) Hardy, who preceded him in death on December 26, 1994. 

Wayne worked at Johns Manville for several years, he was a truck driver, and he had a true passion for working on his farm. He enjoyed traveling, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
  
Wayne is survived by his sons, Kevin Hardy of Defiance, and Gary Hardy, daughters, Sherri Klingshirn of Defiance, and Cathy Hardy of Archbold,  5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, brothers, Glen Hardy and Charles Hardy, both of Defiance, Orville (Linda) Hardy of Sherwood, and Jim (Ann) Hardy of Montpelier. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hardy, two sons, Jeffery Hardy and Jerry Hardy, brother, Paul Hardy, and sister, Pearl Hardy.
  
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with funeral services at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Evansport Cemetery.
