Victor L. "Vic" Plumart, 73, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday evening, June 30, 2019 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on April 30, 1946 to Victor and Bernice (Rader) Plumart in Danville, IL. On June 15, 1967 he married Jeane A (Royster) Plumart, who resides in Defiance.
Victor was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and Elks Lodge #147. He worked as a Supervisor and Chief of the Guards at General Motors in Danville, IL, Saginaw, MI, and in Defiance, until his retirement in 2006. Victor loved being a father and grandfather. He enjoyed working around his house and in the yard, reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, gambling, and playing his guitar.
Victor will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Jeane Plumart of Defiance, son, MacArther R. Plumart of Alpharetta, GA, granddaughter, Lizzy Plumart, grandson, Charlie Plumart, sister-in-law, Peggy Pierce of Danville, IL, brother-in-law, Jack Royster of Danville, IL, nephews, Joshua (Kathleen) Pierce of Lexington, KY, Jesse Pierce of Chicago, IL, and Gary Borgwald of Danville, IL, and his great-nephew, Jackson Pierce of Lexington, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Eva Bann, and niece, Elizabeth Cook.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 pm, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating.
