Thomas "Doc" W. Diemer

Thomas W. "Tom", "Doc"  Diemer, 64, passed away on May 8th at 8:17pm surrounded by his wife and girls. He was the owner/operator of Auglaize Computer Services and retired from GM in 1987.

Tom was born on October 1, 1953 to Donavon "Babe" and Violet "Vi" Diemer in Defiance, Ohio and graduated from Holgate High School in 1971. On May 26, 1973 he married his High School sweetheart, Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Eldridge, who survives. They would have celebrated 45 years of marriage this month. 

Tom and Kathy have four surviving daughters - Sonya (Randy) Vukadinovich, Kimberly (Charles) Askins, Tommi Diemer, all of Defiance, and Kristina Rosales, of Archbold.  His legacy lives on through his 11 surviving grandchildren - Tyler, Tori, and Taryn Vukadinovich; Gavin, Graham, Grayson, and Grayleigh Askins, Mya and Thomas "TJ" Diemer, Triston and Gracie Rosales.  Also surviving are his mother in Holgate, and sister Marilyn (Ed) Wright of Olney, Illinois

Next to his love for his Lord and family, his greatest passion was music. He fulfilled his own father's request of maintaining the family musical legacy, by creating a gospel group, Legacy. He spent his final days dreaming and planning of a reunion of this group and checked this off his bucket list a few days before his passing. He was greeted in Heaven by his brother Roger and his father Donavon.

Tom lived a life with little regrets, lots of Jesus, and a whole lot of family time. He treasured his daughters, who in turn treasured him. His wife was his greatest joy and he spent his last days ensuring she knew how much she meant to him. As a family, music brought them through all the great trials and triumphs through the journey of life. His last moments will be remembered as heartbreakingly beautiful when his wife and girls sang to him as he passed through the gates of Heaven.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday,  May 12, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 14th at Defiance Christian Church, with Rev. Mike Hasselbring and Rev. Charles Alley officiating. Burial will follow the service at Ayersville Cemetery.
