Russ Tressler

Russel "Russ" L. Tressler, 78, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio.   
  
He was born on December 16, 1939 to Clarence and Grace (Woodruff) Tressler in Williams County. On July 8, 1963 he married Jane (Posey) Tressler, who resides in Edgerton. Russ was a member of Defiance Eagles #372, Defiance Moose Lodge #2094, and AMVETS #1991. He owned and operated Tressler Sanitary Service for over 43 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, camping, and playing euchre. 
  
Russ will be sadly missed by sons, Bruce (Pam) Tressler of Defiance, Doug (Regina Bidlack) Tressler of Cecil, and Tom Tressler of Defiance, three grandchildren, Lori Hurst, Bridgett Bullinger, and Meranda Ashbaugh, one great-granddaughter, Zendaya Bullinger, brothers, Richard Tressler, Frank Tressler, Sr. and Larry (Diana) Tressler all of Defiance, and sister, Rebecca Tressler of Woodbine, Georgia.
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Stallhood and Lulabell Herr, and brothers, Junior Tressler, Melvin Tressler, and Leonard Tressler.  Russ will be reunited with his three special cousins which he spent many hours with before their passing: Calvin, Danny and Dale Tressler.
  
Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Myers Cemetery .
