Reynaldo "Ray" S DeLeon, Sr. 79, of Defiance, passed away on  Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. 
 
He was born on January 6, 1935 to Jose and Gumercinda (Saenz) DeLeon in Matamoros, MX.  On October 8, 1955, he married Joan (Juarez) DeLeon at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ft.Wayne, IN.
 
Ray was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.  He worked at Johns Manville for 13 years and Virgil Kents Burial Vaults, before going to GM, where he retired from in 1994.  He coached Little League for Tiffin Township for over 12 years. Ray was an avid  fan of the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State.  He enjoyed running road races, being outdoors, and spending time with his grandkids & family.
 
Reynaldo is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan, children; Rey (Elidia) DeLeon Jr. of South Haven, MI, Diana DeLeon of Jackson, MI, Teddy (Don) Colangelo of Jackson, MI, Andy (Laura) DeLeon, Gene (Lisa) DeLeon of Kokomo, IN, Danny (Kristine) DeLeon of Bryan, OH, 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, siblings; Gonzalo (Beverly) DeLeon of Punta Gorda, FL, Ramon (Abrana) DeLeon of Plesanton, TX, Celedonio DeLeon of Stockton, CA, and Arturo (Mely) DeLeon of Defiance, OH.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Renato DeLeon, Jose Guadelupe DeLeon, Jr. and a sister, Elouiza Veloquio.

Mass of Christian Burial  will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014, at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Todd Dominique officiating.  Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 01, 2014 from 4-8 pm & Sunday, March 02, 2014 from 3-7 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with a vigil service being held on Sunday at 3 p.m.
 
Memorials are suggested to NELL North Eastern Little League, (Made payable to: Brandy Delarber, NELL Treasurer, and/or to St. John's Catholic Church.
