Rafael A. Garcia

Rafael A. "Bob" Garcia, 45, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  
  
He was born on August 9, 1973 to Margarita (Adame) and Raul G. Garcia Sr. in Defiance. Rafael was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and Eagles #372 in Defiance. He worked as a stained glass glazer and welder at William Lupkin Designs in Fort Wayne, IN. In his leisure time he enjoyed hiking, kayaking, traveling, being adventurous, and trying new things. He will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends.
  
Rafael is survived by his parents, Margarita and Raul G. Garcia Sr. of Defiance, daughter, Natasha Renee Garcia of Defiance, sisters, Rose Mary (the late Johnny) Perez,  Yolanda (Juan) Alzaga, Martha Ramirez, Olga L. (Keith) Kindle, Maricela (the late Joe) DeLeon, and Francisca (Abel) Flores, all of Defiance, brothers, Raul Garcia, Jr.and Ricardo (Michelle) Garcia, all of Defiance, Rudy (Lisa) Garcia of Ottawa. He was a proud grandfather to Alayah Grace Conley and Abigail Mia  Conley, and he also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. 
  
He was preceded in death by daughter, Mara Frances Garcia, and his grandparents, Simon and Clara Garcia.
  
Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 24th at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
