Penny K. Blake
Penny Kay Blake (Sharp) (Horg), 64, of Defiance passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at her residence.
She was born in Defiance on October 23, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Charles Sharp and the late William and Mildred (Hoge) Miner. She was the wife of the late Keith Blake.
Penny enjoyed reading, playing computer games and spending time with her family. She earned an Associates Degree from Northwest State in 1982 in Business Management, then in 2006 in social work and a Bachelors Degree from Bowling Green State University in 2010 in social work. She was a life long learner. She had worked as a Direct Support Professional for Developmental Disabilities Agency for 15 years.
Penny is survived by four daughters: Shirley (Charles) Tavner of Amelia, OH, Shelly Moore of Toledo, Angel Horg (Anthony Tarlentino) of Columbus and Amber (David) Lee of South Bend, IN. She was proud of her 9 grandchildren and her 4 great grandchildren. Sisters: Sally (Robert) Geiger, Judy (Joseph) Kroeckel and Pamela Creach all of Defiance.
She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Blake, father Charles Sharp, mother Mildred (Hoge) Miner, stepfather William Miner, grandson Mikael Harrington, brothers: Jerry Sharp, Gerald Miner and Raymond Miner.
Services will be at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26 with Pastor Tim Hacker officiating. Visitation is Saturday from 9 - 11 a.m. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Suggested memorials are to the family. Condolences may be shared at www.lawsonroessner.com
