Marion R. Mekus
Marion R. Mekus, 90, of Defiance, passed away Monday evening, April 1st, 2019 at the Kingsbury Place in Defiance.
She was born in Paulding County on February 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Lucille (Reed) Gutman.
On June 19, 1947 she married married Albert Mekus, who died September 18, 2016. They were married for 69 years. She was a past member of the former St. Mary's Junction Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and a past member of the CLC and the VFW auxiliary.
Marion will be missed by son: David (Karen) Mekus of Defiance, Michael (Regina) Mekus of Holgate,
sister: Dorothy Coressel of Defiance and sister in law Doris Mekus of Defiance.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Robert Gutman, Richard Gutman, sisters: Patricia Morgan and Margaret "Peg" Coressel and a great grandson, Eli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael's Ridge, with Father Jacob Gordon officiating.
Visitation is Friday 3-8 p.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church prior to her services.
A rosary service will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Lawson-Roessner.
Burial will be in St. Michael's Church Cemetery.
