Margie I. Moneghan, age 95 of Holgate, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Henry County Hospital in Napoleon, Ohio.
She was born on March 9, 1924 to the late Arthur and Alma (Meyer) Engel in Holgate, Ohio. On September 21, 1947 she married Lloyd Moneghan, who preceded her in death on April 1, 2004.
Margie was a faithful member of Emanuel Christian Church in New Bavaria. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was a member of the Ladies Guild. Margie and her husband were co-owners of Timberlane Bowling Alley in Holgate, and she worked at the Hastedt Family Greenhouse in Holgate. Margie was a proud homemaker, and her greatest love was her family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margie will be sadly missed by her five daughters; Dianna (Larry) Uzzel of Vernon Hills, IL, Darlene (Wally) Snyder of Hamler, OH, Lynette (Kirk) Fruth of Holgate, Annette (Dennis) Tietje of Deshler, and Karen (Dan) Brown of Holgate, her son, Ken (Linda) Moneghan of Lithia, FL, 15 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Moneghan, brother, Robert Engel, and sister, Marilyn Engel.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Emanuel Christian Church in New Bavaria, and for one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the church, with Pastor Jody Van Dyke officiating. After a short lunch, burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
