Linda L. Akers, 77, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 3, 2018 at The Laurels of Defiance.
She was born on November 21, 1940 to Cecil and Nancy (Cox) Lively in Elton, West Virginia. She was married to the late Everett Akers. Linda was a member of Rock of Ages Church in Defiance, and Farmville for over ten years. Linda was a huge Jimmy Swaggart fan. In her leisure time she enjoyed Farmville, crafts, woodworking, polka dancing, cooking and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Linda will be sadly missed by her mother, Nancy Lively of Defiance, sons, Stevie (Mary) Akers of Oakwood, and Shawn Akers (Chris Napier) of Fort Wayne, IN, daughters, Teresa (the late Tim) Stahl of Melrose, OH, Mylinda Sherry of Lexington, KY, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren-with one more on the way, brother, Charles (Mary Lou) Lively of Wapakoneta, OH, sisters, Patricia (Harold) Hurley of Burgin, KY, Louise (Donald) Justus of Lancaster, KY, and Leona (the late Carl) Bartley of Oakwood, and daughter-in-law, Becky Akers of Napoleon.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Randall Akers, daughter, Bonnie Akers, sister, Mary Ellen Lively, and friends David Head and Tex Kinnan
Visitation will be held from 1-7 pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Dean officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
