Lewis "Louie" Belcher Obituary

Lewis "Louie" Belcher, 77, of Paulding, suddenly passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 in Defiance.   
  
He was born on March 1, 1941 to Major and Loretta (Sloan) Belcher in Big Rock, Virginia. On November 24, 1986 he married Mary (Hill) Belcher, who resides in Paulding.

Louie attended the Cecil Community Church, and Oakwood Church of Christ. He worked for several years in the Water Dept. for the City of Defiance until his retirement in 1986. He loved spending time with his family, and his dogs, Big Pooh and Little Pooh.  
  
Louie will be sadly missed by his wife of 31 years, Mary Belcher of Paulding, sons, Darrell Belcher and Ralph (Shannon) Belcher, all of North Carolina, daughters, Arlene Belcher of South Carolina, and Janie Belcher of  Virginia, grandson, Ryan Belcher, great-grandson, Joseph Belcher, brothers, Harvey Belcher and Frank Belcher, both of Virginia, and Carl Belcher of Bryan, sisters, Margaret Wagner of Bryan, and Marlene Belcher of  Virginia. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Onie Belcher, and stepson, Paul Chestnut.
  
Visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at  Oakwood Church of Christ, at the corner of Road 166 and 191, one mile west of St. Rt. 66 North. A Memorial Service will follow at the church at 11:00 am, with Rev. Lonnie Lambert officiating. Schaffer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
