Lawrence Miller Obituary

Lawrence Alvin Miller, 75, of Cecil, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at his home in Cecil. Lawrence (Larry) was preceded in death by his father Earl and mother Agnes (Gross) Miller.

He was born March 14, 1943 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Larry joined the army at a very young age; eventually retiring after serving over two decades in the service. During his time in the army Larry was deployed to Vietnam during the war, serving with honor and distinction during the conflict. Larry was stationed in several places including Ft. Hood, Texas but the vast majority of his time in the service was spent in Germany, where he would meet his wife Marianne and raise their four children.

After retirement Larry lived in Germany for a time before eventually settling in the Toledo area to be close to his family. He will be remembered as a warm, exceptionally helpful spirit always willing to lend a hand anytime someone needed help with a car or home project. He gave his time willingly to anyone in need, without thought of restitution or compensation. Just knowing he was helping and improving someone’s life made Larry happy.

Lawrence is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 53 years, Marianne Miller; children, daughters Nancy Terry, Sylvia (David) Claussen, and Angela (Mark) Spickenagel, and son, Michael. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the singular love of his life and he adored them all. Melanie (Michael) Sharp, Nicholas, Michelle (Brad) Celski, Adam, Nicole, Destinee, Matthew, Steven, Ambreya, Christopher, Madeline, LeAnne and Nariah.

A cremation memorial service will be a private event on August 26th, 2018.
