Judy Scott
Judith "Judy" Kay Scott, 68, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday night, May 1, 2019 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born in Defiance, Ohio on May 19, 1950. She was the daughter of the late John T. and Ruth (Osborn) Rohrs.
Judy was a 1968 graduate of Defiance High School, a 1972 graduate of Bowling Green University and received her Masters in Special education from Mary Grove College.
She taught 32.5 years, at Dublin Schools for 5 years and then taught special education at Defiance High School for 27.5 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Some of her favorite things were spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling with her husband, reading, playing euchre with her family and nights at home in front of a warm fire.
On July 27, 1974 she married Dave Scott who survives.
She will be missed by her beloved husband of 44 years, Dave Scott,
loving children: Tony (Megan) Scott of Maumee, Mark (Kelsey) Scott of Houston, Texas, Matt (Danielle) Scott of Maumee,
daughter: Erin (Scott) Dillon of Hilliard, Ohio,
sister: Peggy (Angelo) Dorta of Underhill, Vermont,
brother: John T. (Lea) Rohrs III of Defiance.
She is also survived by 9 dear grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Nancy Newlove and Sue Brown.
A memorial mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6 at St. Mary's Catholic Church 707 Jefferson Ave. Defiance, with Father John Stites officiating.
A memorial gathering will be held 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance. Visitation is also 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church, prior to the services. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
