Joanne Parker Obituary

 Joanne (Latchaw) Parker, born April 9, 1939 in Defiance, Ohio.  Daughter of Belva (Hall) and Charles K. Latchaw.  Graduate of Defiance High School (1957).  Attended Hillsdale College and graduated from Defiance College in Elementary Education.  Was a member of Chi Omega.  Married to Douglas E. Parker on June 4, 1961.

Joanne was employed as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and reading specialist in local elementary schools.  She loved playing bridge, golfing and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church.  Joanne was neighborly.  She loved caring for her grandchildren and baking.

Preceding in death were both her parents and brother Charles (Gene) Latchaw.  Surviving are her loving husband Doug Parker of Defiance, daughter Jennifer McFeeters of Woodbury, Vermont, her children Sky Aldrich, Elmore, VT and Grady Thayer, Woodbury, VT, daughter Julia Bartram (Thomas) of Avon Lake, OH and their children Jacob Market (Renee) of Put-In-Bay, OH; Jordan Market (Sarah) of Columbus, OH and Rebecca Bartram of Avon Lake, OH.  

Joanne's last two years were spent under the loving care of many angels including those at Glenn Park.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church in Defiance.  

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
