Joan (Juarez) DeLeon

Joan  DeLeon, 78, formerly of Defiance OH, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, Jackson MI.  
  
She was born on September 2, 1940 to Andres and Concepcion (Holguin) Juarez in Dallas, TX. On October 1, 1955 she married Reynaldo DeLeon Sr. in a Civil Ceremony and had their marriage affirmed October 8, 1955 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ft. Wayne IN. Rey Sr. preceded her in death on February 25, 2014.
  
She was a member of member of St. John Catholic Church, and UAW Local 211. Joan loved all animals, crafts, sewing, and especially her time with family.
  
Joan is survived by her loving children, Rey (Elidia) DeLeon, Jr. of South Haven, MI, Diana DeLeon of Defiance, OH, Teddy (Don) Colangelo of Jackson, MI, Andy (Laura) DeLeon, Gene (Lisa) DeLeon of Kokomo, IN, and Danny (Kristine) DeLeon of Bryan, OH, 18 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, and a sister, Janie (James) Noble of Ft. Wayne, IN. 
  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reynaldo DeLeon, Sr., and her parents.
  
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, with a vigil service beginning at 4:00 pm.  Additional visitation will be held  9:00 am - 10:30 am, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home..
     
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, 11:00 am in St John Catholic Church, Defiance, with Fr Eric Mueller, officiating.
  
Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
  
Memorials are suggested to the Defiance County Humane Society.
