Jerry Dean Wieland, age 57, passed away at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
Jerry was born on January 18, 1962 in Defiance, Ohio. Jerry married Rebecca Stickney in Paris, Tennessee in 1995.
Jerry began working at Bud's Restaurant in the late 70's. He then worked for Figley's Stamping, Johns Manville, Paragon Custom Plastics, Scott Porta fold, Dana, and Haviland Drainage. After his time at Haviland Drainage he began Dialysis in August of 2017 at Fresenius Kidney Care in Defiance.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, boating, working on his home, learning to play the guitar, and spending time with his grandkids. He also loved watching Richard Petty and finding his memorabilia.
He is survived by his sons, Willie (Kim) Wieland and Stewart (Ann) Wieland, daughters, Scottaretta (Jason) Gehring, and Amber Nichols, and his precious grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a funeral service immediately following at 7:00 pm, with Pastor Jon Schlicher officiating. A private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
