James L. Molnar, 67, of Defiance, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his home.

He was born on April 26, 1950 to Albert and Wilma (Fillman) Molnar in Defiance. Jim was a 1969 graduate of Defiance High School. On March 15, 1975 he married Teresa  (Yeakle) Molnar, who resides in Defiance.

Jim loved the Lord, his wife, children, and grandchildren. He worked at General Motors in Defiance for over 30 years, retiring in 1997. Jim loved the Word of God.  He was a member of the Free Christian Church of God in Continental, and was very active in Awana Youth Leadership and Bill Glass Prison Ministry. He was a member of UAW Retirees, and enjoyed southern gospel, fishing, reading the newspaper, and watching his grandchildren play and grow in the Lord. Jim was an avid  fan of The Ohio State football team, along with the Detroit Tigers and Defiance Bulldogs. Spending time with his family was always a priority, and he will be missed dearly by his family and all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his loving spouse of 42 years, Teresa Molnar of Defiance, daughters, Christy (Anthony) Nehls of Sherwood,  Elizabeth (Joshua) Hartman of Defiance, sons, Joshua (Aimee) Molnar of Marion, Indiana, and Matthew (Stacy) Molnar of Maumee, six grandchildren; Ethan Nehls, Elicia Nehls, Alexandria Hartman, Logan Hartman, Miriam Molnar, and Isaac Molnar. He also leaves behind his brother, Steve (Rose) Molnar of Defiance, sisters, Meredith Molnar of Defiance, Barbara (Dennis) Hale of Defiance, and Carol (Dick) Marchant of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma and Albert Molnar.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at  the Free Christian Church of God in Continental.
