Imogene P. Young Leforgee, age 82, formerly of Defiance, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019 in Tucson, Arizona.
She was born on February 2, 1937 to Russell and Pearl (Sauer) Brecht in Holgate, Ohio. On July 20, 1958 she married Dallas L. Young, Jr., who preceded her in death on September 23, 1997. On January 15, 2006 she married M. Bryan Leforgee, who resides in Green Valley, Arizona.
Imogene was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Defiance, and an associate member of The Community Church in Green Valley, AZ. She was a former employee at The State Bank and Trust Company in Defiance, and worked for over 27 years as an Administrative Assistant for Tinora Local Schools, retiring in 1996. She was the past president of Defiance Business and Professional Women's Club, past Matron of Defiance Eastern Star, past president of Eastern Star District 7, and a member of Clear Lake Yacht Club. Imogene had many good friends and colleagues, and she will be greatly missed by her family and by so many that loved her.
Imogene is survived by her loving husband, M. Bryan Leforgee of Green Valley, AZ, daughters, Amy Jo Young (Scott Yuengling) of Woodstock, MD, and Tamara (Brent) Renollet of Defiance, and her foster son, Tim (Becky) Roehrs of Kendalville, IN. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren; Reid Renollet, Brevin Renollet, Casey Yuengling, and Taytum Cochran, and two great-grandchildren; Payton and Gannon Cochran.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and first husband, Dallas L. Young, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with Pastor John Schlicher officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
