Helen E. (Rieke) Heller Andrews

Helen E. Heller Andrews, 94, of Defiance, passed away peacefully with her family on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.  
  
She was born on February 23, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio to Ferd and Vera (Harrow) Rieke. She grew up on a farm in Paulding County. Helen was a 1941 graduate of  Auglaize-Brown High School in Oakwood, Ohio.  On July 19, 1942 she married George E. Heller in the Arthur Bethel Christian Church in Arthur, Ohio. George passed away on November 1, 1984. On December 19, 1987 she married Walter Andrews in the Oakwood Methodist Church in Oakwood, Ohio. Walter passed away on April 7, 2006. Helen is a member of Bethel Christian Church in Arthur, Ohio, and The Everwilling Club in Oakwood, Ohio. 

Helen worked for The Charles Company in Downtown Defiance, and for many years at Grant-Shisler Insurance in Oakwood until her retirement. She lived at Glenn Park Assisted Living in Defiance since 2011. She enjoyed her many friends, and playing bingo and other games. She especially lover her caregivers there, and they loved her in return.

Helen will be sadly missed by her sons, Ron (Jennie) Heller, and Don (Cheryl) Heller, all of Defiance, grandchildren; Alicia (Tim) Waxler, Amanda Heller, Nathan (Libby) Heller, Kyle (Dena) Heller, Neal (Kelly) Stouffer, and Jill Engel, great-grandchildren; Matthew Stouffer, Jacob Stouffer, Luke Stouffer, Emma Stouffer, Jordan Engel, Morgan Engel, Porter Heller, and Max Heller. She also leaves behind her brother, William "Bill" Rieke, and son-in-law, Dave Stouffer.
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, George Heller and Walter Andrews, daughter Dianne Stouffer, and brother, Kenneth "Ken" Rieke.
  
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Bethel Christian Church in Arthur, Ohio, with additional visitation before the service from 10:30 to 11:00 am. Pastor Chris Baker will be officiating the service. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance.
