Frances L. Imber, 96, of Defiance, passed away on Friday morning, December 21, 2018 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on November 30, 1922 to Forrest Glenn and Hazel (Willett) Huber in Hicksville, Ohio. On February 15, 1947 she married Paul J. "PJ" Imber, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 5, 2013.
Frances was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church, and the Altar Rosary Society. She was a graduate of The Lutheran School of Nursing and was a registered nurse. She worked for several years at The Defiance Hospital, The Defiance Health Department, and she helped with local blood drives. Frances enjoyed cooking, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and being a mother and grandmother. She was a good old fashioned wife and mom.
Together, during their marriage of 66 years, Frances and Paul raised four children; Paul J. (Jane) Imber, Jr. of Coldwater, MI, Patrick A. (Mary) Imber, Ann E. (David) Westrick, and Michael (Shaun) Imber, all of Defiance. They were proud grandparents of nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Imber, Sr., and sister, Donna Orcholski.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, December 24th at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr. Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Area Hospice Center, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
