Evelyn Almeda (Michael) Roth

Evelyn A. Roth, 96, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Hillside Country Living Center in Bryan, Ohio.  
  
She was born on August 24, 1921 to William E. and Villetta May (Taylor) Michael in Grover Hill, OH. She was a 1939 graduate of Grover Hill High School. On July 15, 1941 she married Gerald E. Roth, who preceded her in death on December  9, 1986.

Evelyn was a faithful member of First Church of God in Defiance. She was full of love and faith, and was an excellent role model to her family and friends. Evelyn found joy in helping others. She worked for several years in the office of Morgan Linen Company, retiring in 1980. In her leisure time she loved to sing old hymns, and attend activities at the Senior Center. She will be tenderly remembered by her family and friends, knowing she is at peace in God's home.
  
Evelyn will be greatly missed by her son, Larry (Joann) Roth of New Palestine, IN, daughter, Diane (James) Stahler of Edgerton, OH, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild  
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Roth, grandson, Joey Roth, and sister, Elma McClure.
  
Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating. Entombment will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
