Derl "Gomer" Marshall

Derl "Gomer" M. Marshall, 65, of Defiance, passed away on  May 26, 2018 at his residence.  
  
He was born on August 30, 1952 to Verlin and Marie (Barker) Marshall in Defiance. Derl was formerly married to Rita Hale of Archbold from 1971 and divorced in 1991. He worked as a maintenance technician  for North Star Steel, Superior Machine and Exeter Drilling. Derl enjoyed riding his Harley Davidsons, working in his shop, and spending time with family and friends.

Derl is survived by his sons, Michael (Anna) Marshall of Maumee, Ohio, and  Jason (Susie) Marshall of Defiance, a daughter, Angie (Max) Barnes of Findlay, Ohio. 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Carol (Darrell) Stark of Defiance, Lori Monteiro of Virginia Beach, VA, and Connie Marshall of Napoleon. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gary Marshall.
  
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm at Restoration Tabernacle, 9119 Christy Road in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 pm on Friday at the church, with Rev. Janet Strickland officiating. Immediately following the service, please ride your Harley in honor of Gomer to a luncheon at The Willow Room, 1965 Jefferson Avenue in Defiance.
