Dennis L. Cain

Dennis L. Cain, age 72, of Holgate, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. 
  
He was born on October 24, 1945 to Eugene and Wilma (Eis) Cain in Defiance, OH. Dennis proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1969. He worked at General Motors in Defiance for over 25 years until his retirement. In his leisure time he enjoyed trap shooting, pool leagues, computers, and remote control helicopters.
  
Dennis is survived by his wife, Edie Cain of Holgate, son, James Cain, and daughter, Tracy Sholl, both of Defiance, five grandchildren; Daneal, Jacob, Justin, Jerrad and Justice, great-grandchildren; Brooklyn, Drake and Kashous, brothers, Robert (Sue) Bauer, Bill Cain, and Eugene (Janice) Cain. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Diane Benien and Carol Riebesehl, and a brother, Delmar Cain.
  
Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 21st at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
