Cynthia M. Bauer, 52, of Oakwood, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday morning, July 8, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.  
  
She was born on August 23, 1964 to Robert and Marjorie (Suever) Kroeger in Lima, Ohio.  On September 22, 2012 she married Brian Bauer, who resides in Oakwood. Cindy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance. She worked for 17 years in the Accounting Department at Midwest Community Federal Credit Union.  

Cindy was a gift to everyone who met her. She loved life, and had many friends that loved her and will miss her. She lived life to the fullest, and her radiant smile could light up even the darkest room. She loved to walk outdoors, all types of music, and enjoyed decorating her home for every season. Always the life of every party, she would make a new friend if you weren't already a friend! 
  
Cindy will be sadly missed by her husband, Brian Bauer of Oakwood,  parents, Robert and Marjorie Kroeger of Defiance, daughter, Ashley Brown and son, Trevor Brown of Defiance, sisters, Christine (Mark) Willee of Toledo, and Cheryl (Joe) Howard of Defiance, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Gunnar. 
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Vigil Service is scheduled at 2:00 pm with Deacon Jeff  Mayer officiating.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
