Catherine "Babe" B. (Bremer) Zimmer

Catherine B. "Babe" Zimmer, 76, of Defiance,  passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at The Toledo Hospital, with her loving family by her side.   
  
She was born on October 26, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Carl and Irene Bremer. On July 10, 1970 she married Alfred E. Zimmer, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2007. Catherine was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Defiance Eagles, and Defiance Moose. She loved spending time with her family, and they will miss her dearly. All will remember her infectious laugh and wonderful smile.
  
Catherine was blessed with four wonderful children, Rick (Lori) Duma of Defiance, Lisa (Rich) Smith and Terri Duma, all of New Haven, MI, and Edward  (Tonya) Zimmer of Defiance. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, with two on the way, sister Evelyn (Dave) Jones of Defiance,  brother, Arthur (Cheryl) Bremer of Burt, MI, and a special friend, Robert Sanders of Defiance. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Lash, Marian Lingle, and Pat LaPan, and brothers, Tom Bremer, Edward Bremer, and  Jim Bremer.
  
Visitation will be held from 4:00 -8:00 pm on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
