Beverly Anne (Rhoads) Temple
June 26, 1949 ~ June 14, 2017 (age 67) 67 Years OldBeverly Anne (Rhoads) Temple passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, after a two-year medical battle that she courageously overcame to take her rightful place among loved ones in Heaven.
She was born to Anne (Roberts) and Lyman Rhoads on June 26, 1949 in Celina, Ohio. She is survived by her siblings; Mike (Theresa) Rhoads, Sandra (Bill) Gilbert and John (Dania) Rhoads. Beverly was a loving and caring mother who prided herself on being a great cook and loved to share her special recipes. She raised four children; Maria (Christopher) Clawson, Christa (Mike) Ernst, Scott (Tanya) Temple, and Gregg (Rhonda Gerken) Temple.
She was an incredible loving grandma to 8 grandchildren; Elizabeth, Hannah, Emily, Maddie, Aaron, Courtney, Grant and Hayden. Her energetic and youthful spirit created a unique bond with each grandchild. Supporting them in all of their endeavors including sports, hobbies, and careers was something she was very passionate about.
Beverly was an avid Chicago Bears and Blackhawks fan. She loved watching NASCAR races and rooting for her favorite driver, Kasey Kahne. She was also a voracious reader, and loved being read to by family and friends. She was a hero and example of courage, strength, and bravery to all who knew her. She dedicated many years of service, working with people with special needs as well as advocating for women and survivors of abuse. She was very involved in youth ministry and programs within her church, First Baptist Church in Defiance, and served as an AWANA leader inspiring youth.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 1399 S. Jefferson Avenue in Defiance, where a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Tim Yazel officiating.
