Betty Jean Baden, 84, of Defiance, passed away on  August 19, 2017 at the CHP Defiance Area In Patient Hospice Center with her loving family by her side .  
  
She was born on November 19, 1932 to Charles & Cora (Grim) Nartker in Holgate, Ohio the 1st born twin to brother Bernard.

She was a member of St John Lutheran Church, Defiance. She retired as a meat wrapper from Kroger's. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends at Kingsbury House and reading.  

Betty is survived by Cheryl (Bruce McDaniel) Hohenbrink of Leipsic, OH, Terry Baden of Toledo, OH, Kathy (Bill) Martin of Gibsonburg,OH, Karen (Gary) Oberlin of Defiance, OH, and Timothy (Cindy) Baden of Continental, OH, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 more on the way. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sons Randall and David, brothers Harry, Richard and Bernard Nartker, sister Lolly Rettig, and a son in law Tony Hohenbrink. 
  
Visitation will be held Monday, August 21, 2017, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
     
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at the St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Schiemann officiating.  Burial will be held at 2:00 pm  in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon.
