Beth E. Grunden, 59, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.  
  
She was born on February 5, 1958 to Albert and Jean (Stafford) Wilhelm in Bowling Green, Ohio. On October 25, 1986 she married Ken Grunden, who resides in Defiance.

Beth was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance. She received her Associates Degree and worked as a Medical Assistant at Defiance Regional Medical Center, and Rite Aid in Defiance.  Beth dearly loved her dog, Penny, and all stray animals. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.   
  
Beth will sadly be missed by her loving spouse of 30 years, Ken Grunden of Defiance, daughters, Heather (Danny) Fairchild of Paulding, Dawn Himburg, Audrey Davis, and Brittany Grunden, all of Defiance, stepsons, Jamie (Catherine) Grunden and  Joe (Lori) Grunden, and stepdaughter, Kendra O'Hara, all of Defiance. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and eight step-grandchildren, sister Judy (Larry) Ickes of Custar, Ohio, and brother Roger Wilhelm of Bowling Green. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Keith Wilhelm and Gary Wilhelm, and sister, Linda Wilhelm.
  
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm on Friday at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Fr. Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
