Berta L. Morris-Bott, 86, of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 27, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
  
She was born on December 14, 1930 to Eugene and Alberta (Kummerant) Smith in Defiance. On April 22, 1950 she married George W. Morris, who preceded her in death on February 11, 1988. On August 2, 1991 she married Raymond Bott, who passed away on August 7, 2013.  Berta owned and operated Morris Heating and Air Conditioning, and Morris Floor Covering in Defiance. Berta was a lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church. 

Berta was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A lady who touched and inspired all whom she touched throughout her life. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the time spent with her husbands. Berta had a love for music and dancing throughout her life. Although to bring joy to her day were rides in the car, her cat, and Tom's Friday night fish fry.
  
Berta is survived by her sons and daughters, George R. (Tonie) Morris, Connie (Tom) Haver, Rudy (Julee) Morris, David (Bobi) Morris, Christine (Gary) Siler, Sarah (Mark) Wolfrum, Ellen (Bill) Kuckuck, Jennifer (Tim) Greear, Janice (Mike) Wolfrum, and Regina (Gannon) Bryant. Brothers, Jim (Janice) Smith and Greg (Sharon) Smith, and sister, Mary Beth (John) Peoples. Berta leaves behind 33 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
  
In addition to her parents, Berta was preceded in death by her first husband, George W. Morris, second husband, Raymond Bott, sisters, Jeananne Steingass and Patricia Shawley, a granddaughter, MacKenzie D. Morris, and two great-grandsons, Garrett Thomas Emahiser and Peyton Daniel Siler.
  
Friends and family may call from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 2:00 pm. A  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 31st at St. John's Catholic Church, with Fr. Eric Mueller officiating.
