Antonio V. Martinez

Antonio V. Martinez, age 85 of Defiance, passed away on Monday evening, May 13, 2019 at Promedica Hospital of Defiance, surrounded by his family.   
  
He was born on May 27, 1933 to the late Norberto and Romana (Vasquez) Martinez in Brownsville, Texas. On June 30, 1954 he married Felipa (Cordero) Martinez, who preceded him in death on August 2, 2014.  Antonio worked at Johns Manville in Defiance for over 30 years until his retirement. He cherished his time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Antonio will be sadly missed by his family; four daughters, Alicia (and the late Carlos) Hernandez of Defiance, Maria (Antonio) Crespo of Youngstown, OH, Linda Lou (Barak) Bower of Naples, FL, and Leticia (Bobby) Hernandez of Wauseon, OH, four sons, Juan Antonio (Lydia) Martinez of San Antonio, TX, Nino (Donna) Martinez of Paulding, Ruben (Angie) Martinez of Winder, GA, and Robert (Julie) Martinez of San Antonio, TX, 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Lala (and the late Marcelo) Puente of San Antonio, TX, and Flora (Nick) Gonzalez of San Antonio, TX, and two brothers, Rick (Elizabeth) Martinez of Defiance, and Roger (Mary Jane) Martinez of San Antonio, TX. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Felipa Martinez, and brothers, Secundino Martinez and Noberto Martinez.
  
His family is hosting a Celebration of Life for Antonio on Saturday, May 18, 2019  from 3-6 pm at The Ridge Project, 169 St. Rt. 65 in McClure, Ohio.
