Ann (Bohlmann) Grant

Ann Grant, 94, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 19, 2018 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.   
  
She was born on April 24, 1924 to Fred and Freeda (Hopple) Bohlmann in Defiance. In 1946 she married Bradford Grant, who preceded her in death in February 12, 2007.
  
Ann was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Defiance for 80 years. She served on the Board, played in the bell choir, and was a choir member for 70 years. Ann graduated from Defiance High School in 1942 as class salutatorian. She attended Defiance College, completing course work in engineering. She worked for Defiance Machine Works in their engineering department. Ann was a charter member of the first Girl Scout troop in Defiance. As a member of Defiance Hospital Auxiliary she was honored for volunteering many hours at it's Thrift Shop.
  
Ann is survived by her son, James (Mary Ann) Grant of Defiance, a grandson, Joel (Stacy) Grant, and granddaughter, Kelly (Dustin) Ballinger, five great-grandchildren; Max and Greyson Grant, and Cason, Coryn, and Cecelia Ballinger. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bradford Grant, brothers, James Bohlmann and Frederick Bohlmann, and sister, Mary Snyder.
  
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the church, with Rev. John Schlicher officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
